The end of the race gets to be a busy place...
...and the...
...colors abound...
...as folks gather 'round.
A few shots of the end of the course, while it's still neatly groomed
Poised for the imminent action
And a racer's view of the finish line
Incoming! A group (flock? herd? pride? gaggle? pod? murmuration? corps? tribe?) of skiers.
What do you call a pack (troop? cartload? school? plague? band? troupe?) of skiers anyway?
Well, any way you call it, they came in droves (swarm? army? sloth? cete? colony? horde? cloud?)
Yes indeed, there was a bunch (covey? hush? band? mob? charm? family? siege? aerie? warren?) of them.
Number XXX zips across the finish line.
A snowshoer shows her stuff.
Safe! Baseball skills come in handy at race's end.
Spiderman makes an unexpected showing.
Keep in mind, the following are photos of those who crossed the finish in relatively quick time, commonly referred to as "winners".
BUT! There are hundreds of winners--even thousands!
Remember, each person that contributes to the TNSAR via the TGSR or otherwise, contributes to the saving of lives--in a VERY REAL SENSE! You are ALL a part of a winning team!
Patrick Weaver (396) kicks donkey behind, and crosses the finish line first.
First woman across the line is Katerina Hanasova (2).
And together...first man and woman.
First three racers to cross the finish line.
Patrick Weaver (392), John Engen (494), Colin Mahood (562).
BTW, John is 45 years...um...young--came in second!
