Whether coming from the direction of Sacramento or Reno, you can check the Caltrans web page on the status of the major highways (Hwy 80, Hwy 50, Hwy 89, Hwy 267, Hwy 431) into Lake Tahoe. You can get similar information by dialing (800) 427-7623.
Any participants coming from Truckee should plan on alpine ski area traffic (on either 89 with Palisades, or 267 with Northstar) and plan to leave early enough (7 might be a fair goal).
Parking is limited; please carpool if possible, or consider using TART Connect (a free on-demand service you can use by downloading their app). Parking will be strictly enforced; you will be towed if you park outside the designated areas. Designated parking will be available on the North side of Polaris and Cedarwood; on the East side of Village; on the West side of Country Club; and on the South side of Highland. Another option is to park at the North Tahoe High School at the end of Polaris; a groomed track will be available to skate to the start at the Nordic Center, a distance of less than .5 miles. Bathrooms will also be available at the High School.
Shuttle vans will be available before and after the race, traversing the neighborhood and picking up people on the street and from the high school to take you to and from the Nordic Center.
Please do not park in any undesignated areas.
There will be a dedicated bag tent at the Tahoe Cross Country Center for personal gear (clothes, etc). Please mark any bags with your name and bib number. And note that we are not responsible for any lost or stolen items.
